Evolution 2015, Meeting Website - Guarujá, São Paulo, Brazil – June 26-30
IMPORTANT UPDATE, June 1, 2015
We have made some info available on the Evolution 2015 website that I would appreciate if you could publish on yours if you would.
1- For those who still do not have their visa to come to Brazil, I have managed to talk to the Ministry of Foreign Relations and they told me that I can submit them a list of people and they will request that their visa is expedited. They told me that we would still have to wait for the limitations of each consulate, but reinforced that the visa process takes between 5-10 days, no longer than that. The long lists that people may have encountered are due to the surplus of people requesting visa. When they send this request to the consulate, what that generally does is put your name ahead of the list, so if you were told you would have to wait 2 months, this may reduce substantially. People who would want to use that system would have to write us by Tuesday, June 2nd, with their name, address, passport number and closest Brazilian consulate so we may submit that request in time for the meeting.
2- People will have until next Friday, June 5th to request a voucher for the airport shuttle, which runs from both SP airport and the hotel meeting. We strongly recommend people to take advantage of that shuttle, since it will cost more, and take significantly longer to use alternative routes to get to the meeting.
Many thanks for your help in releasing that info to all. We are also emailing the registrants to remind them of the shuttle deadline as well.
Attendees will need a visa obtained from the Brazilian consulate. We suggest that individuals call to inquire about the timeline, because different processors have different timelines (possibly depending on the state). It may take up to 45 days+, costs $150 - $180 (or more if you are in a hurry). For shorter times, the application must be made in person.
1. Attendees will need a visa obtained from the Brazilian consulate to attend the Evolution 2015 conference in Guarujá. These visas cost around $170 if you go through a visa service, and $120 if you do it yourself.
I know this all sounds complicated - it is, and we need to start getting the word out soon or we will have lots of disgruntled attendees stranded at airports. Please tell others who might be considering attending. They will not be allowed to board a plane headed for Brazil without a visa.
